Flat Peach and Loquat Smoothie

Flat peach and loquat smoothieToday another refreshing smoothie recipe seeing as you seemed to like it last time. Loquats, also known as Japanese Medlar, are very common here in Spain. They’re sweet, but not too sweet and a bit addictive. Here’s a link in case you’re not familiar with them.

orange zestI topped the smoothie with a little orange zest to give it some texture and to have a slightly bitter contrast to the sweet peach and loquat.

If you keep the fruit in the fridge, you won’t have to chill the smoothie, you can drink it straight away. This is better because the fruit doesn’t lose any nutrients that way.

Flat Peach and Loquat Smoothie

Preparation:     5 minutes                                                        Servings:  1 glass       Cooking Time:  none                                                                                                            Total:                   5 minutes

Ingredients:

3 flat peaches

2 Loquats

1 orange zest only

Wash the orange and remove the zest. If you have a zester leave it as it is. If you don’t have a zester use a vegetable peeler, being careful not to get the white bitter part, then slice the zest into thin strips with a knife. Peel and stone the flat peaches and loquats. Put the fruit in a blender until smooth. Serve sprinkled with the orange zest.
